Building instructions for dolfmeister LEGO® MOC (My Own Creation)

RhB G 4/5 107 - 108 | Black & Dark Green

Class G 4/5 were the largest and most powerful steam engines of the Rhaetian Railways (RhB). Built in several lots, a total of 29 were put into service. Early efforts to electrify the network, due to the coal shortage during WW I, rendered these engines surperfluous, and most were taken out of service during the 1920s. Sold to railways in Spain, Thailand and Brazil, they were in use there until the 1970s.

This model represents the first two superheated steam engines, delivered in 1906. Featuring a large tender, in the livery introduced in the 1930s. Both engines survived into preservation, and remain with the 'RhB Historic' fleet. They received name plates for their centenary in 2006 - No. 107 named 'Albula' and No. 108 'Engiadina'.

All driving wheels are powered by an M-motor via gears and side rods, and channels for routing of cables are provided in the chassis.

Please note, this model is 10 studs wide at the cylinders and has significant overhang in curves.
